When Dentistry on 88 opened, we wanted to incorporate technology in the field to assist with patient care. As a result, below are some of the different items used in the practice.
Digital X-Ray Technology
Our office uses digital x-ray technology to aid in diagnosis, treatment plan and patient education. We also have a panoramic x-ray machine which can take a digital 180 degree x-ray scan of a patient’s mouth. Panoramic x-ray machines can be used prior to wisdom teeth extractions, root canal treatments, useful for patient’s that may have a strong gag reflex and in evaluating other aspects of a child’s or adult’s dentition.
Sterilization Centre
The sterilization centre is designed to be a one way workflow of cleaning and sterilizing dental instruments used on patients. In addition, the sterilization centre features a water filtration and water purification system to provide water to the dental operatory and different components of the sterilization centre, such as the sterilizers.
3 Shape Trios 3 Move Intraoral Scanner
The intraoral scanner offers patients the ability to visualize their current state of oral health. Patients are able to see their teeth and gums as the dentist completes a comprehensive exam of all areas of their mouth. At the same time, the scanner is used to scan for crowns, dentures, nightguards, bleaching trays, implant surgical guides and for cosmetic purposes. Having this technological tool in our office has allowed us to educate our patients on their oral health and provide recommendations to enhance their home care routines.
Medical-Grade HEPA Filter Technology
To combat COVID-19, our office has installed 4-stage medical-grade HEPA air filter purifiers throughout the office and in each operatory room to quickly cleanse the air of 99.97% harmful aerosols.
Suction Systems
